Every week the IDF Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (CoGAT) organizes the transfer of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Over the last week, between May 2nd and May 8th, a total of 714 truckloads, consisting of 17,060 tons of humanitarian aid were transferred into the Gaza Strip from Israel via the various crossings.
Among the various products included in the transfers this week were 1,535,777 liters of Heavy-Duty-Diesel fuel for the power station, 293,796 liters of diesel fuel for transport, 917 tons of cooking gas, 76 truckloads of fruits and vegetables, 91 truckloads of wheat, 33 truckloads of meat, chicken and fish products, 39 truckloads of dairy products, 112 truckloads of animal feed, 26 truckloads of hygiene products, 48 trucks of clothing and shoes, 30 trucks of sugar, 7 trucks of medicine and medical equipment and 1 truckload of milk powder and baby food.
In addition to the transfer of products, CoGAT also arranges for the passing of people through the crossings to receive various services. Last week, 370 medical patients and accompanying individuals from the Gaza Strip crossed into Israel and the Judea and Samaria region for medical treatment and 93 Palestinians entered Israel for other various reasons. 191 staff members of international organizations crossed into the Gaza Strip, and 192 crossed from the Gaza Strip into Israel.
