Earlier this week, Israel marked Holocaust Remembrance Day.
As I the director of Sderot Media Center, I recalled my past three years here in Sderot. Standing in silence on the balcony of the Sderot Media Center, it seemed very symbolic that Sderot and the western Negev continue to remain target of Palestinian rockets–the only region int he world where rockets are fired freely upon a Jewish population in a Jewish society.
This daily rocket attack reality has somehow became acceptable both here and in the world.
By accepting this form of terror, we give legitimacy to terrorism and terrorist leaders.
Everytime the Tzeva Adom, or Color Red siren goes off, it reminds the people of the western Negev that they are yet under the mercy of rocket attacks and the terrorists who fire them.
In a world where terrorism is accepted, the UN Durban II conference on human rights invites the Iranian President Ahmadinejad to open the conference with his hatred of Israel and the Jewish people.
There is no outcry to condemn these rocket attacks while the words of the Iranian leader and the decisions of Durban II seem to be taken in stride by much of the international community.
Today, Iran positions itself in Sderot’s back yard.
Who will speak up for Israeli citizens who continue to be targets of radical Islam in the form of Hamas rocket terror?

The major stumbling block in advancing to peace is the position of the Arabs in whatever country, is that they do not want Jews in the Middle East. Once they can manage to get over that, real peace negotiations can begin. Instead, you can see what we are getting.
No one will speak up for the terror war against Israel and against the Jewish people except the Jewish people. We must count on ourselves. No one has ever helped us except those few moments in history when, through self-interest and/or political expediency certain nations came forward. But most remained hidden, occasionally helping the Jewish state clandestinely. If we cannot help one another, and are sitting and waiting for "the world" to help and protect us, we’ve got a long and painful wait. We must act now and support the Jewish state unconditionally.
