Israel exists to provide a safe homeland for Jews. Yet the Jews of southern Israel, including Sderot, Ashkelon, Ashod, Be’er Shevah and the western Negev, live under constant rocket attack. Hamas fired 26 rockets in the first week of March alone, and more than 10,000 over the last 8 years.
Certainly, the tension and trauma endured by the victims of every Qassam attack – while undeniably excruciating — is qualitatively different than the all out war on Jews and Judaism represented by the Holocaust. Yet once again Jews are victimized simply for being Jews.
