SMC director, Noam Bedein visited Norway during the first week of May to meet with the Norwegian Christian communities, the Israeli Embassy in Oslo and MPs. In light of the Gaza war, Bedein aimed to raise awareness to the rocket reality still threatening Sderot and close to 1 million Israelis in the south.
Bedein met with local press, young politicians, and Norwegian MPs at the Israeli Embassy in Oslo. Bedein updated his audiences with the latest information on Palestinian rocket terror from the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (IICC) and brought with him material produced by Sderot Media Center during the war.

Norway’s public prosecutors recently came out saying in late April that they would study a complaint filed by a group of lawyers accusing Israeli leaders of war crimes over a military offensive in Gaza. According to a Reuters report on April 22, a group of Norwegian lawyers filed the complaint using a new Norwegian law under which foreigners can be charged in Norway with war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity even if the alleged acts were carried out elsewhere.
The Norwegian lawyers stated that Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak, seven Israeli military officers, former PM Ehud Olmert and former Foreign Minister Tizpi Livni were responsible for “massive terror attacks primarily directed at the population in Gaza.”
According to Dr. Asle Toje , a researcher at the BI Norwegian School of Management and foreign policy advisor to the Progress Party of Norway,
“Norway, a country that used to be very pro-Israel, has turned into one of the most anti-Israel countries in Europe today.”
Bedein also met with local Norwegian MPs including Bjørn Erik Berggrav, a young politician who thanked Bedein for the information on the situation in Sderot and insight on the Israeli-Arab conflict.
Sderot Media Center would like to extend a special thank you to Arne Nergård, Gro Wenske and the Israeli Embassy in Norway for making this trip possible.
Oh, I’m so happy you have taken this message outside of Israel – and to Norway! I hope you have opportunities in many other nations as well.
Keep up the good work.
Shalom shalom.
