Noam Bedein is the director of Sderot Information Center for the Western Negev (aka Sderot Media Center) which he started in 2006 with the aim of showing the world “the human face” behind the situation in Sderot, which at that point had been under regular rocket fire from Gaza for five years.

Since taking up the position, Noam has arranged and hosted visits for foreign diplomats and journalists; fulfilled speaking engagements at major universities in both the U.S. and Israel; and has written and contributed to articles and segments regarding Sderot published in major media outlets, including The Jerusalem Post, New York Times, and Sunday Times Magazine (London).
Before establishing the media center, Noam served three years as an IDF staff sergeant on the Labanese border, one year as a Jewish Agency schaliach in Boston, and spent one year traveling throughout the Far East.
Currently, Noam is on a speaking engagement tour, featuring stops in Oslo, the northeast U.S. and Canada.

  1. Thank you. For your courage, your commitment, and for helping the world see the truth about Israel. One of the greatest problems Israel faces is that while people in the United States are sympathetic towards Israel, support has weakened. In part, because people have worries of their own. In part, because no one knows exactly what to do. But it is also in part, because the media has portrayed the Palestinians as the victims, and the Israelis as the aggressors. The work you are doing is exactly what is needed. May G-d Bless you and keep you safe.
