A group of representatives from Finland, Germany, and South Africa, including AP reporters, visited Sderot on Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Adi and Nekart of Sderot Media Center, guided the European visitors to Kibbutz Geviim, where they viewed a gallery displaying the various types of Qassam rockets fired from Palestinian terror networks in Gaza. The group received an in-depth explanation of life under Palestinian rocket fire for the past eight years. They also traveled to the viewpoint outside Kibbutz Nir Am, where the short distance between Gaza and Israel is seen. The final stop was in Sderot, where the group visited the first and only playground in the world protected from exploding rockets. In addition, the SMC guides also brought the visitors to protected schools and shelters in Sderot, highlighting the danger that the Palestinian rockets pose to the security of Sderot and Negev residents.
